Our Local Member Councils (LMC) offer meaningful education and sharing of best practices among small groups of leading members of the region’s commercial real estate community. Council membership is selective and there is no guarantee of Council membership. Appointment to a Council is granted solely by each Council’s leadership based on space availability, professional sector role, and the applicant’s expertise in the requested sector.
PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS APPLICATION CAREFULLY AS IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING POTENTIAL MEMBERSHIP ON A LOCAL MEMBER COUNCIL.
COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP: Council participation is available to ULI Associate and Full Members only. A minimum of 10 and maximum of 45 Council members will be selected by the Council leadership. LMC Members are drawn from the full range of disciplines involved in the Council type. Each Council seeks representation from the following:
▪ Development Firms and REITs
▪ Financial Institutions including lending, investment, or institutional sales
▪ Professional Service Firms such as contractors, engineering, planning, architecture, economics, law, and brokerage firms
▪ Public Sector: city, county, and regional
▪ Academic and non-profit institutions
Council Members must agree to remain on the Council for a minimum of one year. Membership can be renewed yearly at the LMC Chair's discretion.
MEETINGS/EVENTS: Each Council must hold at least four meetings annually. A member may be dismissed by the Chair for more than one absence in three consecutive meeting absences.
FEE: Each Local Member Council charges an annual participation fee for administrative and meeting costs. These vary from $100 to $400, depending on the Council. (Public sector member annual fees and Young Leaders do not exceed $100.) Do not send annual fee payment now. Upon acceptance of your application by a Council, you will be invoiced for the appropriate fee.
--Note: The Small Scale Development Council will not exceed $100 for 2020-2021.
